These are the minutes for the Society General Meeting (SGM) held on the 26th of October 2006 in COLT2 at 5pm.

Election

First we dealt with the election of a new treasurer, prompted by the resignation of the treasurer elected earlier in 2006.

Two people ran for election:

Alex

Eek

Alex won the vote with 14 votes for Alex, 4 for Eek and 1 for NSC/RON.

Items for Discussion

The members discussed:

• The Java Society - We decided to try and convince the Java Society to become part of Compsoc
• Student Union Link - After discussion nobody wanted to link to the SU
• Atlantis - A new server. We briefly discussed buying this.

• Sponsorship - We briefly discussed BioTekNik, Notnet and Context Shift.

It was decided to give £20 to David Bell to pay him back for buying sweets/cakes for the past two Society General Meetings.

The meeting ended at around 5.40 and the majority went onto the LFS/Officers meeting in SE109.
