Complaints/Abuse should be emailed to the following address: abuse@compsoc.co.uk.

This address should then forward to the SO (Senior Officer) and the AO (Abuse Officer) only. This is to ensure that the committee lists do not get flooded with email (abuse@ is a well known address) and also so as not to act as a way of "tipping off" any potential person receiving attention. By going to the SO and AO if either of them are the person being complained about then the other officer is aware.

The following words - complainee and complaintant - are defined as follows:

In general the following procedure should take place:

  1. The AO and the SO jointly decide whether the complaint is worthy of attention and if so the secretary is made aware of the situation for logging.
  2. The AO gathers evidence as appropriate from the complainee and the complaintant and other involved 3rd parties (ie officers able to provide appropriate logs etc)
  3. The AO and the SO then decide whether the complainee has been found against and reccomend what action to take
  4. Officers and committee are then informed of the situation and all information is made available to them. If the officers/committee disagree at the findings then it goes to a vote.
  5. The complainee and complainant are then both made aware of the findings.

In the event that the SO/AO are being complained about then the uninvolved party goes through the above procedures (2-5) in conjunction with the President.
